MimiMind started from a love of cosmetics. I have always had trouble with my skin, it is dry and because of that becomes itchy and easily irritated. Especially after coronavirus started to emerge and I started to wash and sanitise my hands a lot. The skin on my knuckles became very irritated and itchy, after I have scratched it, I started bleeding and it was very painful.
Nothing seemed to help (not even hand creams), that is when I started to investigate… Store bought soaps often contain harmful chemicals that harm your skin AND the environment and as if that is not bad enough, the big companies tend to take out glycerin and put it in hand creams for higher profit. Glycerin is the ingredient that helps locking your natural moisture, helps with skin irritation and prevents the skin from drying, it is a natural by-product of the saponification process, when making soap.
In our lovely soap everything is natural and nothing is taken out. We have chosen our ingredient carefully, each to help your skin, but at the same time to be cruelty free, vegan and eco friendly!
Let’s have a look on why our ingredients are helpful:
- Babassu oil: anti inflammatory, moisturising, in South America it’s even used for wound healing
- Olive oil: anti inflammatory properties, contains oleic acid that is very helpful for dry and aged skin, relieves eczema and psoriasis,
- Shea butter: moisturises without clogging pores, contains vitamin E that is an antioxidant,
- Hemp oil: is as well anti inflammatory, anti age, and even treats atopic dermatitis!
- Argan oil: collagen booster, believed to reduce eye wrinkles and circles, helps with acne and psoriasis
- Pomegranate oil: is an antioxidant, contains vitamin C, delays signs of aging from overexposure to sun
- Ylang Ylang: is believed to help with relaxing, alleviating anxiety and even boosting self-esteem when inhaled or applied to skin
Our soap can be used for hand washing, but also for your body and face.
We decided to make our soap hard instead of fluid, to avoid using unnecessary packaging, that would harm our planet. All of our wrapping is biodegradable.
